Personality: Art is a very unusual Brujah indeed, even for a Caitiff. They're beautiful and hardly pugnacious, well-dressed and made up, a dilettante of many trades and in modern nights a lover of current slang and speech patterns and shitposts. They're also quite a fan of psychology, and the psychology and history of what people fear and why is one area in which they do more than just dabble. They're really quite enthusiastic about it.

They're also equally likely to hang out with Anarchs, Camarilla, Sabbat, and even Kuei-Jin (though they've not really interacted with any of the latter yet), depending on which groups are the least shit in the area they're currently in. They're no-rank enough that it doesn't really matter that their allegiances change from city to city, and pretty much no one's even noticed it yet. It might be bad if this catches up with them...

But they don't even see it the way many others doubtless would. They just appreciate the people who accept them and have done decent things for them, think all the factions as they know them have good points and bad points, and unless one tries harassing them or goes way against their moral compass, they're good.

HISTORY

[Art will be referred to as "they" throughout, as those are their current pronouns, though from the early 1920s through the late 1990s/early 2000s they identified as a man, due to their physical and social dysphoria.]

June 19, 1907: Born Iwa Ito in Shepherd's Bush, London, England.

Early 1920s: Iwa privately begins identifying as a man, though they are stealth and don't tell their family or friends.

August 16, 1938: During something of a date, Iwa is bitten by their Sire, a man they're seeing for only the second time. The next morning, their Sire is gone, bugged out of London due to not wanting to be punished for Siring without permission, though of course he doesn't explain this. They don't know about Kindred society, but they're terrified of what they are and of being found out and keep their head down.

November 30, 1938: After a little over three months, fortunately, the local Anarchs find Iwa before the local Camarilla does (Prince Mithras and, especially, his Seneschal Lady Anne Bowesley being incredibly harsh on anyone who breaks the Traditions of the Masquerade). While they aren't all that impressed by Iwa, the Anarchs give them a bit more context and don't completely leave them out to dry.

June 27, 1939: After nearly a year of their family being baffled and worried due to their strange new nocturnal habits and lack of stopping by to share any meals, a week after their birthday and with the assistance of the Anarchs, Iwa takes a ship across the Atlantic to America, to get away from both the uncomfortable questions of those they know and the potential punishment of the local Camarilla. To avoid bad blood (heh) and potential extradition, they introduce themself to Archbishop Polonia upon arrival in New York City and obtain permission to operate in New York in return for their allegiance to the local Sabbat. They also begin socially transitioning.

October 1939: Iwa chooses an Americanized name and becomes Arthur Ito.

January 14, 1942: With the anti-Japanese-American sentiment really ramping up after the December attack on Pearl Harbor, Arthur goes to ground with the help of New York's Sabbat-aligned Nosferatu. They would lie low for over four years, until late 1946.

December 1957: After some years of friendship with a local Tzimisce, Arthur accepts her help in physically transitioning.

May 1964: With plans to potentially head to Hawaii, and feeling a bit more secure in going westward, Arthur starts travel from the east to the west coast, stopping in various cities along the way for several months to several years at a time.

November 1971: Arthur arrives in Las Vegas and announces themself to Prince Benedic. They end up actually liking Vegas a good deal, and they decide to stop and settle there at least for a while.

Mid-1996: Arthur learns about genderqueer identities, and something clicks, though they won't begin firmly experimenting with such an identity or "singular they" pronouns for a few years.

December 2003: Hearing from local discussion that the Camarilla is moved back into Los Angeles, and learning more about L.A.'s current situation with the Anarchs, the Kuei-Jin, and the Sabbat, Arthur (now going by Art) decides out of concern that they really should go and poke their nose in within the year. Not that they're a fighter, but they've been helped multiple times before by nearly all the factions (not the Kuei-Jin) and want to see if there's anything non-combat they can do.
